Мы открываем прием заявок на участие в конкурсе на постановку репертуарного спектакля для театра «Провинциальные танцы»: приглашаем российских и зарубежных хореографов и постановщиков принять участие в конкурсе на создание спектакля в жанре site-specific.

Кто может участвовать:
Хореограф и/или постановщик независимо от образования, места проживания, художественного стиля и творческого видения.

Тема:
Театр «Провинциальные танцы» обретает свою постоянную локацию — здание первого городского театра (с 1915 года называется кинотеатр «Колизей»), и заявленная постановка будет создана специально для этого места. Здание, объект культурного наследия регионального значения, буквально и символически стоит на перекрестке: расположенное в историческом центре Екатеринбурга на углу двух оживленных улиц, оно всегда было местом, где уживались традиции и современность. «Первый» ― одно из ключевых слов в его биографии: первый городской театр, первый городской кинотеатр, первое электрифицированное здание в городе, первый стереокинотеатр, первый дом для театра «Провинциальные танцы» и современной хореографии в России в целом. Созданный спектакль станет первым для его стен в новом статусе, что будет запоминающимся рубежом в истории «Колизея», его перезагрузкой.

Контекст:
«Провинциальные танцы» ― репертуарный театр современного танца. За более чем 30-летнюю историю театр впитал лучшее из хореографической традиции, транслируя при этом ценности культурной инновационности и эксперимента. Это позволяет рассматривать концепт существования театра в системе координат «Традиция ― современность». С этой точки зрения, логичным, хоть и парадоксальным, выглядит вариант художественного обживания именно исторически значимого места, объекта культурного наследия. Первый городской театр вернется к истокам, первоначалу, приобретя при этом статус «дома», постоянной площадки «Провинциальных танцев» и современного танца как жанра в целом.

Конкурс:
Проект продолжает программу театра, нацеленную на поддержку молодых хореографов и постановщиков. Среди основных критериев отбора кандидатов: соответствие экспликации постановки заявленной теме. Будущая постановка может включать в себя все многообразие средств выразительности, форм и стилей, не ограничиваясь только сценой и только жанром современной хореографии. Председатель жюри конкурса — художественный руководитель и хореограф театра Татьяна Баганова.

Критерии и условия конкурса:

Соответствие заявленной теме и жанру.
Продолжительность работы: 30-45 минут.
Количество исполнителей: от 3 до 8 человек.
Постановка должна быть впервые созданной.
Автор обязуется не менять идею (замысел) своей постановки, а также ее тему, жанр, количество задействованных артистов и другие параметры, прописанные в заявке.
Объявление победителя - 28 марта 2022 года.
Постановочный период будет делиться на 2 части: 2-3 недели в апреле-июне 2022 года, 1-2 недели в августе-начале сентября.
Премьера в начале сентября 2022 года.
Минимальное количество зрителей - 50 человек.
Стоимость постановки – не более 800 000 рублей, включая гонорары.

Театр берет на себя оплату расходов, связанных с проездом и проживанием в подготовительный и репетиционный периоды для постановочной группы (хореограф, композитор, сценограф и другие). Выбранный спектакль будет поставлен для танцовщиков труппы театра «Провинциальные танцы» в здании первого городского театра («Колизей»).

Рекомендуем собрать все необходимые материалы в одной папке на облачном хранилище, ссылка должна быть рабочей вплоть до даты определения победителя (28 марта 2022). Форма заявки содержит необходимую для участника информацию о «Колизее», чертежи здания (с обозначениями возможных пространств), история здания, фото.

Subject:
In 2022 The Provincial Dances Theatre got its permanent venue — the building of the first city theatre (since 1915 it is called the “Coliseum” cinema). The performance should be created specifically for this venue\building. The building is an object of cultural heritage of regional significance. It is located (literally and symbolically) at the crossroads: in the historical center of Ekaterinburg, at the corner of two main streets, it has always been a place where history and modernity meet. “First” is one of the key words in the “biography” of “Coliseum”: the first city theater, the first city cinema, the first public building in the city with the electricity, the first stereo cinema, and nowadays – the first home venue for the Provincial Dances Theatre and Russian contemporary choreography in general. A site-specific performance will be the first one in “Coliseum” new age history and its cultural reboot.

Context:
Provincial Dances is a repertory theatre of modern (contemporary) dance. Founded in 1990, during more than 30 years of its history, the theatre has taken in the best of the choreographic tradition, while being innovative and experimental. This allows us to consider Provincial Dances conception both inside tradition and modernity. And this new historical venue\home for the theatre looks both paradoxical and logical. The first city theater will return to its origins and get a status of Provincial Dances Theatre “home” and modern dance in general.

Competition:
The project continues the theatre's program of supporting young choreographers in the contemporary dance genre. Among the main criteria for the selection of candidates there will be the compliance with the main theme of the competition — site-specific performance created for the “Coliseum” historical building. Tatiana Baganova (the artistic director and choreographer of the Provincial Dances Theatre) is the jury chairman.

Who can participate:
Any choreographer, regardless of education, city of residence, style and so on.

Main conditions and criteria:
The whole amount of money for the project is 800,000 rubles (the cost in euros or dollars will depend on the exchange rate at the beginning of the production period) including all the fees (choreographer, composer, costume designer, etc).

The Provincial Dances Theater is responsible for the travel expenses and accommodation for the choreographer and\or stage team.

5. During the rehearsal period the choreographer can not change the idea (concept) of the production, as well as its theme, genre and number of artists involved.
6. Announcement of the winner — March 28, 2022.
7. The production period will be divided into 2 parts: 2-3 weeks in April \ June 2022, 1-2 weeks in August-early September.
8. Premiere — early September 2022.
9. The minimum number of spectators: 50 people (remember that it is a site-specific performance for the “Coliseum” and you may use any available space inside this historical building).

The performance will be staged for the Provincial Dances Theatre in any selected space of the "Coliseum" building.

The Provincial Dances Theatre was founded in 1990 in Ekaterinburg. It is one of the first avant-garde dance companies in post-Soviet Russia. The theater became a pioneer in the genre of contemporary dance, formed and consolidated this concept in the cultural space of the country. This is a theater-property, a theater-brand that has an international conversion, it enjoys prestige in the all-Russian and world professional sphere of the highest level.

Provincial Dances Theatre has toured in 55 cities of 20 countries, as well as 34 cities
within Russia. 19 productions were nominated for the most prestigious Russian National Theatre Award, the Golden Mask, 6 pieces won the Golden Mask.
